Help me decide....HSN has an Expression on 4 easy pays and it's calling my name. but it's soo expensive. I wouldn't ever consider it without getting the SCAL software to go with - could never justify buying all those cartridges at those prices.
I have a Big Shot and a few dies I haven't used much but there's a couple of box dies I've been lusting for - and with one of them I'd need the extender cutting board - and there's at least one nestabilities I want and the total costs of all those is easily $100 which is like 1/3 of the cost of the Cricut. I'm thinking with this I can get the box files at this site http://www.scentials.com/Boxes.htm and make them any size I want as well as any shapes/sizes the Nesties cut. I've been lurking at the SCAL board and there's lots of free stuff and inexpensive purchase stuff as well as being able to use it on all my hugware. I should scrap more but I haven't been but I do make cards and I'm thinking it may be useful for things for the church where I work.
I have the Cricut expression and I love it!!! I haven't had mine long and I am STILL learning things to do on it!!! Good luck!! God bless Nyoka

I also have the expression and love it dearly. I do have SCAL, DS, Gypsy, you name it! LOL I love working with SCAL and there are so many beautiful free files. I've made cards, mini scrapbooks, vinyl for the wall, a little bit of everything. The expression has been one of my best investments craft wise, and I definitely don't need a zillion punches now.
It is well worth the investment on the Expressions. I have both, the orginal and the big E. My Gypsy just came today, got it at HSN with the payment plan. The deals they have this week are just too good to pass up.

I just got mine about a month ago and I too debated it for a long time. I finally just did it. I'm doing the payments and I am really happy I did it. I just wish I had more time to play with it. I really want to get the SCAL but figured I need to wait a little while.

After debating over this for about a year, I finally took the plunge about 2 months ago. I did order the E from HSN. I bought the deal with 4 carts, jukebox, DS and four payments. I love my E and have been learning new things everyday. I just recently bought SCAL and have been using that a lot. I really haven't used DS and if it didn't come with the package, I don't know if I would have gotten it. Maybe when I have more time I will try learning how to use it. I rent a space in a craft/antique mall (where I also work). So I did buy this for business as well as personal. So far I have made glass blocks, wood signs, floating frames and I used old CDs to make signs. I have a friend who works for a car detailing company and has been giving me vinyl for free so that has been great. My son just used it to make a poster for school. I am really glad I bought it, even thought it is a big investment. Michele

Thanks GG I'll be using that when I order SCAL. I'm doing an outside job (outside of my regular church job) for a friend starting a drug testing business - so far I've designed him a logo and a form and I'm printing business cards and now I'm loading stuff on his laptop. Hoping to set the money he pays me aside to buy SCAL. I ordered the Cricut E this afternoon. (After all I did recently "let" dh get a new Steelers jacket they had on HSN - he didn't "need" another jacket but he wanted it really bad). Thanks for all the info.

I adore my E! My DH got the bundle from AC moore (normally $329) came with 4 carts, and the markers. Got it at the black friday deal and only paid $175 for it (yes, seriously!)
I don't have SCAL, but I have DS. boy is it addictive!

I have the Cricut Expression, Baby Cricut, SCAL, Design Studio. My Gypsy is on the way.
The HSN deal is a great one. I wouldn't pass it up if I was in the market for the Cricut.
She's a good machine. I beat mine up and she still loves me.
Don't discount the cartridges. CreativeXpress always runs great sales and you can get some really great cartridges for cheap. Like Tags, Bags, Boxes and More is the perfect cart for pcCrafter girls. A couple of the carts has a Top Note Die just like SU's. Off the top of my head I can't remember which ones. I want to say Stretch Your Imagination.
Maybe one of the girls can remember which cartridges.
You will love your Cricut. I have several die cutting machines and I rely on my Cricut.

I just got my Gypsy in today. I am in love with it, lol. I can't put it down. That is the greatest innovation to happen to the Cricut in a long time. I still want to play games with it. Maybe PC will give us some "crafting" games, lol.
I highly recommend the Gypsy. A lot of you know I post over at the Cricut board too. The girls were wonderful in helping me sort out all the problems, bugs and other "dramas".
I was not going to spend over $300 on something that had tons of problems. The problems are being fixed, the new update is wonderful and makes they Gypsy even more powerful and the other problems I think were user error. :)
